But hold your ground.<\/li><li>And then, as soon as she apologizes and asks again,\n     meet her and give her the time she needs.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>When you do this, she\u2019ll learn to value you more&#8230; and that\u2019s a crucial\nstep to getting out of the friend zone. She has to stop seeing you as\n\u201cexpendable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now to the second type of emotional rollercoaster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As soon as you sense she values you more, you put her on the second\nemotional rollercoaster. This time, you give her feelings of romance, and then\ntreat her as a friend again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s an example of this emotional rollercoaster in action:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Let\u2019s say you\u2019re talking about the TV show <em>Game of\n     Thrones <\/em>and how there never seems to be any happy endings in the\n     show.<\/li><li>Then you talk about your ex and how THAT relationship\n     didn\u2019t end happily&#8230; and you ask her about her last relationship and how\n     it ended.<\/li><li>Then you talk about <em>Game of Thrones <\/em>again,\n     especially about Jon Snow and Danaerys.<\/li><li>Then you talk about how both of you will find a happy\n     ending eventually, no matter how painful your pasts were&#8230; just like Jon\n     and Danaerys.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>See how it works?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you do this, you\u2019ll plant the idea of \u201ca happy ending\u201d in her mind. And\nsince you\u2019re the only one she\u2019s with when you do so, she\u2019ll attach that \u201chappy\nending\u201d to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And when you keep putting her on similar emotional rollercoasters, she\u2019ll\nstart feeling attracted to you&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;until one day, she\u2019ll start flirting and hinting about going steady.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When that happens, all you got to do is say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d ask you to be my next girlfriend&#8230; but I\u2019ll have to think about it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If she says \u201cI don\u2019t mind,\u201d or \u201cI\u2019d like that,\u201d then congratulations,\nbrother.
