Every day it\u2019s the same thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>YOU:<\/strong> (Cockblocker Destroyer) \u201cKind of like Dan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>HER:<\/strong> \u201cWhat do you mean?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>YOU:<\/strong> \u201cOh, nothing&#8230; at happy hour two weeks ago, Dan was there. And he went on and on about work when everyone else was trying to relax. I mean, I\u2019m sure he\u2019s a great worker, but I\u2019m guessing he\u2019s single now because he bores all his dates to tears.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>HER: <\/strong>\u201cYeah&#8230; Dan <em>is <\/em>pretty one-dimensional.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another example:<\/p>\n<p><strong>YOU:<\/strong> (Value Elicitation) \u201cWhat\u2019s most important to you in a relationship?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>HER:<\/strong> (Reveals her needs) \u201cWell, I guess <strong>love<\/strong> would be my top priority. I want to know I\u2019m loved unconditionally, no questions asked. Also, maybe a sense of <strong>security<\/strong> and <strong>safety<\/strong> \u2013 I want to be with someone I can <strong>trust<\/strong> completely.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>YOU:<\/strong> (Linking her needs to yourself) \u201cSo let me get this straight. <strong>Unconditional love <\/strong>is your top priority (put your hand on your chest)&#8230; and <strong>trust <\/strong>is your second priority because you\u2019ve felt insecure and unsafe before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>HER:<\/strong> (Reveals her pain points) \u201cYeah. My last boyfriend cheated on me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>YOU:<\/strong> (Cockblocker Destroyer) \u201cHmm. Your last boyfriend kind of reminds me of Dan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>HER:<\/strong> \u201cReally? Why?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>YOU:<\/strong> \u201cRemember how Dan falsified his time sheet two months ago? He got himself a dozen extra hours of overtime pay.
