Makes you wonder why she\u2019d flip out over a trivial thing, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s the reality: <strong>she\u2019s <em>not<\/em> mad about the diapers.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She\u2019s mad because you\u2019re forgetful, or you don\u2019t know your baby\u2019s needs that well&#8230; and you don\u2019t seem to care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or, let\u2019s say it was payday, and you treated yourself by buying a few extra six-packs of beer on your way home&#8230;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;and when she finds out, she blows up in your face. Makes you wonder what the big deal is, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Again, <strong>she\u2019s <em>not <\/em>mad about the beer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She\u2019s mad about your lack of thoughtfulness, your selfishness, your <a href=\"https:\/\/derekrake.com\/blog\/beta-male-test\/\">beta-ness as a male<\/a>&#8230; or how you didn\u2019t think of HER when you went shopping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Women Communicate Covertly, Not Overtly<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, you might be wondering:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cSo why doesn\u2019t she just SAY so? I\u2019m not a mind reader!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Answer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/derekrake.com\/blog\/female-talk\/\">Because women don\u2019t communicate the same way men do<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Men and women follow different \u201crules\u201d when communicating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Men are hard-wired to use <strong>\u201covert\u201d<\/strong> communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re rational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We say what we mean, and we mean what we say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We take words at face value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Women, on the other hand, are hard-wired differently. They use <strong>\u201ccovert\u201d <\/strong>communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>They\u2019re not rational \u2013 they\u2019re emotional.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s not about <strong><em>WHAT <\/em><\/strong>they say. If you \u201cgot the message&#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;if you understood how women communicated&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;and if you could \u201ctake hints,\u201d and know what your woman <strong>REALLY <\/strong>wanted&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;and if you made the fundamental adjustments she desperately needs you to make&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;then she <strong>WOULDN\u2019T <\/strong>flip out if you got the wrong diapers, or bought too much beer, or made some other mistake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s because you\u2019re a guy who\u2019s smart and manly enough to know how to communicate with women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s rare. And she\u2019s not about to do anything to hurt her relationship with such a rare gem as you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Get the picture?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>She&#8217;s not about to just &#8220;tell you&#8221; what she wants. She needs you to be man enough to figure things out.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If she had to tell you overtly (like how a guy would)&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;then it&#8217;s the final nail in the coffin. Because you don&#8217;t argue, full stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Decoding Her Behavior (And Not Her Words)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s what to do instead:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong><em>Find the deeper, underlying issue.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Observe her behavior closely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Take note of what she\u2019s been <strong><em>REALLY <\/em><\/strong>stressing over recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Figure out what she needs from you, and then make the adjustments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Jeff\u2019s case, he figured out the REAL issues behind Athena\u2019s arguments with him:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>He was a careless spender, and they were falling behind the bills. Jeff applied for a raise and started cutting expenses \u2018round the house.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He was spending too much time with his friends. Jeff started spending more time at home.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He wasn\u2019t helping out around the house enough. Jeff started doing his long-postponed promises to clean this, fix that, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Almost instantly, Jeff started seeing results. He started having fewer arguments with Athena. And the few arguments they did have were much less intense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Better yet, Athena was slowly reverting to the sweet, giddy girl Jeff first fell in love with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Later, Jeff would confide in me\u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;I should&#8217;ve done this earlier. It&#8217;s all about the mindset. I had wanted to learn how to win an argument with my girlfriend. It turned out the correct skill to learn was <a href=\"https:\/\/derekrake.com\/blog\/how-to-tame-your-girlfriend\/#How-To-Train-Your-Girlfriend-And-Why\">how to train your girlfriend<\/a> instead.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Taking Things To The Next Level<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All these were good things. But it wasn\u2019t <em>enough<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I warned Jeff that he\u2019ll need to decipher Athena\u2019s arguments and deal with the underlying issues as they came up. She\u2019ll be respectful, loving, supportive, and submissive for life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arguments? Few and far between.
